Unlock capital from
what you own

Discreet, fast finance against the assets you have built — without disposal. Classic cars, fine art, watches, jewellery, wine, yachts and aircraft.

What is luxury asset finance?

Capital against your assets — not against your income

Luxury asset finance — sometimes called asset-backed lending or pawnbroking at scale — allows the owner of a high-value tangible asset to raise a short-term loan against its value, without selling. The asset is either held by the lender for the loan period, or in some cases (particularly vehicles and aircraft) retained in the borrower’s possession subject to conditions.

Loans typically range from £10,000 to several million pounds, with terms from 1 to 36 months. The lender advances a percentage of the asset’s independently assessed market value — typically 50–70% — and the borrower repays at the end of the term or in monthly instalments.

Unlike property or business lending, luxury asset finance requires no credit checks in most cases. The lender’s security is the asset itself. This makes it available to borrowers with adverse credit, high net worth individuals seeking confidentiality, and those who need capital quickly without the paperwork of conventional lending.

Key features

  • No credit checks required in most cases

  • Asset retained in many cases (vehicles, aircraft)
  • Adverse credit, complex structures and overseas borrowers
  • Loan terms from 1 to 36 months
  • LTV: typically 50–70% of independently assessed value

How it works

01

Initial Enquiry

Tell us about the asset and the amount required. We provide indicative terms — advance amount, rate and conditions — typically within a few hours.

02

Independent Valuation

The lender instructs a specialist valuer for the asset class. For classic cars, a marque specialist. For art, a certified appraiser. For watches, a certified horologist.

03

Documentation & Title

You provide proof of ownership — V5C for vehicles, provenance for art, certificates for watches and jewellery. Title must be clear and unencumbered.

04

Drawdown

Loan funds are transferred to your nominated account. The asset is either collected by the lender's logistics team or remains with you under agreed conditions.

Why borrowers choose luxury asset finance

Property deal deposit

Raise a deposit for a property acquisition quickly against a classic car or watch portfolio, without needing to liquidate.

Tax obligation

Settle an HMRC demand or CGT liability with short-term liquidity, repaid from an anticipated receipt or sale.

Business working capital

Bridge a cash flow gap using a personal asset rather than the business, keeping business credit facilities unencumbered.

Adverse credit

A borrower with a complex credit profile raises capital against a verified asset where no credit assessment is required.

Discretion required

No public registry entries, no bank statements required. The transaction is between the borrower and the lender only.

Rapid access

Faster than selling. An auction sale takes months. An asset loan can complete in 24–72 hours.

Important notes

Luxury asset finance is unregulated in most cases and is not subject to FCA consumer credit rules.

The asset is at risk if the loan is not repaid. Understand the repayment obligation before proceeding.

Valuations are conducted by independent specialists appointed by the lender — not by Archangel or the borrower.

Archangel does not hold, store or take possession of any assets at any stage.

Overseas assets and non-UK borrowers are considered case by case.
